The Faces behind your local support groups ~ Cliodhna and Kari from Doing the Best We Can

Doing the best we can was set up 6yrs ago when Cliodhna and Kari found themselves seeking support while their loved ones had mental health difficulties. Their peer support network provides information and support to parents / guardians and those indirectly affected by mental health difficulties within the family. We have opened Mayra house at 6 Main Street, Raheny which will provide a centre for parents / guardians.

The Faces behind your local businesses ~ Ann Marie from Into The Past Genealogy Services

The Faces behind your local businesses ~ Ann Marie from Into The Past Genealogy Services

My name is Anne-Marie Smith, MAGI of Into The Past Genealogy Services, and I am a member of Accredited Genealogists Ireland, and Raheny Business Association.

I was one of the founder members of Raheny Business Association in 1988 and I co-wrote a book on the History of Raheny Business Association along with Dick Hooper in 2009 to celebrate 21 years.

I have had an interest and a passion for genealogy for many years. Having undertaken research on both my maternal and paternal side of the family, along with commissioned family history books for other clients, I then decided to set up Into the Past Genealogy Services in order to help people search for those long lost relatives and reunite them back in their family tree where they belong.

The faces behind your local businesses ~ Ross from Tully's Total Health Pharmacy

Hi folks,

My name is Ross, I am a third-generation pharmacist and the supervising pharmacist and owner of Tully’s totalhealth Pharmacy in the village.

I have been living in the village for the last 14 years and have been serving the local and not so local community for the last 13 years as a pharmacist in our pharmacy. I moved to Raheny from the west of Ireland in the height of the recession, but it did not take me long to realise the quality of life the community has to offer. It is reassuring to have so many likeminded businesses and people in Raheny, this is only highlighted by the number of clubs, groups and associations in the area

We are so proud of all our members who have been able to get back to doing what they love.
The village definitely has a new sense of optimism and local community spirit and it has brought so much joy to the local businesses seeing everyone's happy faces pop in to show their support.
With the great news that by July all of our amazing members will be back open and trading, we wanted to extend our praise and admiration for the tough year that everyone has faced and we so look forward to seeing all of our business doors open real soon.

The Faces behind your local businesses ~ Claire from River Holistic

Hi everyone.

My name is Claire and I opened River Holistic 8 years ago with just me, a big dream, a little fear and true belief that there was a real need for a safe haven for all things Holistic needed for our community that I both live in and have the honor to call my work home too. As well as a proud local business owner I have the pleasure of being Co-Chair Person of the RBA as I am passionate about helping businesses succeed and the people behind said businesses feel supported.

Sit a while and take your ease and remember Seamus

Seamus Griffith Plaque

The Raheny Business Association commissioned a special plaque to remember Seamus Griffith and mark his incredible commitment to Raheny.

It was felt that the rose bed on Watermill Rd Opposite Main St, was the appropriate location, as it was his pride and joy which he tended every week.

A range of grasses, lavenders, other perennials and ground cover roses have been planted which hopefully will bloom in the coming weeks. A seat will also appear on the low wall so that you can “sit a while and take your ease and remember Seamus”

Our Thanks to the local Business Association members – Simone KF Landscape Architects, Brian Castlerock Builders, Jason Mr Magic, and of course Raheny Tidy Village who carried out the work over the last 2 weeks.
